Ramp Quirks & Etiquette
Small Boats Only
This is a carry-in or small trailer launch — think 12-16ft aluminum flat-bottoms, canoes, and kayaks. There's no dock, so you're sliding your boat off the trailer and wading it out. Anything bigger than 16ft and you're asking for trouble.
Tiny Lot Fills Fast
Five trailer spots is all you get. On a summer weekend morning, that lot can be full by 8 AM. If you're hauling a trailer, get there early or have a backup plan — there's no overflow area.
Quiet Fishing Gem
Adams Lake doesn't draw crowds, which is exactly the point. It's a small, quiet lake managed through Young State Park, and the fishing can be surprisingly good if you're patient. You can legitimately catch your limit here on a calm morning.
Bare-Bones Setup
This launch dates back to a 1961 federal acquisition, and not a whole lot has changed since. No dock, no amenities, no frills. Bring everything you need because there's nothing here but a ramp and a handful of parking spots.
