Vandalism Issues
The site has a history of vandalism, so don't leave anything valuable in your vehicle or at the ramp. I wouldn't leave a truck and trailer here unattended for a full day if I could help it.
Small Lake, Good Fishing
Cochran Lake is a small, quiet lake — perfect for a canoe, kayak, or a small aluminum boat. The fishing can be surprisingly good if you know where to work the structure. Don't bother bringing anything over 16 feet.
Burt Lake SP Managed
Administered by Burt Lake State Park, but don't expect state park-level amenities here. It's a minimally maintained access point tucked away in Cheboygan County. The upside is solitude — you'll likely have the whole lake to yourself on a weekday.
