Ramp Quirks & Etiquette
Easy Ramp Access
The ramp here is straightforward — easy in, easy out, even for bigger boats. No drama backing down, and the approach is wide enough that you won't feel squeezed.
Late Season Weeds
By late summer and into fall, the weeds in the water really pile up near the launch and shoreline. Not a dealbreaker, but it can foul your lower unit if you're not paying attention while idling out.
More Than A Launch
This is a full park setup — sandy beach, picnic areas, grills, restrooms, a lighthouse pier, and a big playground right next door. If you're bringing the family along for the day while you fish, they won't be bored.
Parking Is Informal
There's no dedicated trailer lot with painted spots, so on busy summer weekends the lot area can get a little chaotic with trailers, beach-goers, and park visitors all competing for space. Weekday mornings you'll have zero issues.
Sunrise Side Gem
Faces east over Little Bay de Noc, so the sunrise views are unreal. If you're launching early for a walleye run, give yourself an extra minute to take it in. The harbor master is around and genuinely helpful if you need local intel.
