Ramp Quirks & Etiquette
Brand New Ramp
The ramp was completely rebuilt in 2024, so you're launching on fresh concrete with four lanes. It's a massive upgrade from the old setup — no more crumbling edges or dodgy footing.
Tight Maneuvering Space
Despite four lanes, the staging area feels cramped, especially with larger rigs. The approach angle is a bit awkward, so if you're backing a 20-footer, take it slow and use your mirrors. Not ideal when multiple trailers are jockeying at once.
Separated From Campground
The new layout routes launch traffic away from the campground, which is a big deal. The old configuration had trucks and trailers rolling right past campsites and kids. Much less stress now on both sides.
Deep Water & Walleye
Long Lake has serious depth to it — you're not fighting shallow water at the ramp or worrying about your lower unit in the channel. Walleye are the main draw, but there's a solid mix of species if you explore the deeper structure.
Parking Reality Check
Forty-five trailer spots sounds generous, but on a summer Saturday morning this lake pulls a crowd. Get there by 7 AM on weekends if you want a stress-free spot. Weekdays are a different story — plenty of room to spread out.
