Ramp Quirks & Etiquette
No Real Ramp
Don't come here expecting a concrete ramp — there isn't one. It's a natural bank launch, best suited for kayaks, canoes, and other carry-in watercraft. Anything on a trailer is going to be a hassle.
Parking Gets Tight
Only 3 trailer spots, and people tend to crowd right up near the launch instead of spacing out. If you're using a bed extender or small trailer, you might get boxed in. Park a little further back and save yourself the headache.
Paddle-Friendly Water
The Huron here is calm and scenic — great for a quiet paddle. Not a lot of submerged branches or snags in the main channel, which is a bonus if you're running an inflatable.
Fish Advisory Zone
There's a Do Not Eat advisory on fish from the Huron River through this stretch. You can still catch-and-release all day, but don't plan on a shore lunch.
