Ramp Quirks & Etiquette
No Ramp Here
Don't show up expecting a concrete ramp — there isn't one. This is a natural shoreline launch, strictly canoes and kayaks. If you're trailering a powerboat, you're at the wrong spot.
Parking Gets Tight
Only a handful of spots can handle a vehicle with a trailer or bed extender, and people love to squeeze in right next to the launch instead of pulling forward 20 feet. Show up early on weekends or you'll be blocked in when you try to leave.
Half the Lot Reserved
About half the parking area is designated for boater access site users, so it's even more limited than it looks. The other half serves general rec area traffic, which means summer weekends can turn the lot into a puzzle.
Fish Advisory Warning
The Huron River through here carries a Do Not Eat fish advisory. Catch-and-release only unless you want trouble. Something to know before you plan a shore fishing trip with the kids.
Great for Quiet Paddling
If you want a mellow float, this is a gem. The Huron here is calm and relatively clear of snags — a real plus if you're running an inflatable. Weekday mornings you might have the whole stretch to yourself.
