Ramp Quirks & Etiquette
Small Boats Only
This is a one-lane ramp suited for kayaks, canoes, and jon boats. Don't try to back a 20-footer in here — the bayou is shallow and narrow, and there's simply no room to maneuver anything big.
Five Spots, That's It
With only five trailer spots, you're out of luck if even a couple other folks had the same idea. Get here early on weekends during duck season or expect to get creative with parking along the access road.
Bluegill Factory
If you want to fill a bucket with bluegills, this is your spot. They're stacked up in the little nooks and backwater pockets along the bayou. Don't expect much else — some days the bite for anything other than 'gills is dead.
Duck Season Gets Busy
This place transforms once waterfowl season opens. The bayou is prime duck hunting water, and those five parking spots disappear fast on opening weekend. Outside of hunting season, you'll practically have it to yourself.
The Smell Factor
The bayou can get pretty ripe, especially in late summer when the water's low and stagnant. It's a slow-moving backwater, so on hot days the smell hits you as soon as you open the truck door. Not a dealbreaker, just something to expect.
