Scout's Notes

Ogemaw Falls is a hidden gem that most people drive past without noticing — the tiny ground-level sign is easily missed, especially when covered by brush. Look for a small pull-off area directly across from a pond/swamp on the left side of the road, and you'll find the unmarked trail on the right. It's barely a 5-minute walk through the woods to reach this enchanting tiered waterfall that spreads across a wide rock table. While only 10 feet tall, the falls create an intricate web of trickling water channels you can carefully explore by scrambling down to the base. The unmaintained trail has gotten rougher in recent years with downed trees from windstorms blocking parts of the path and obstructing views. Mosquitoes and ticks can be brutal here, especially in summer, so come prepared with bug spray and do thorough tick checks afterward.
