Ramp Quirks & Etiquette
Parking Is Tricky
There are zero dedicated trailer spots — parking is technically only in campsites. If you're not a registered camper at Mitchell State Park, you're going to have a problem finding a legal place to park your trailer. Plan accordingly or you'll be circling.
Single Lane Bottleneck
One lane in, one lane out. On summer weekends the wait can stack up fast, especially mid-morning when everyone's trying to get on Lake Cadillac at once. Early mornings or weekday launches are the move here.
Bait Shop Next Door
Pilgrim Village bait shop sits right next to the ramp. Handy if you forgot something or need local intel on where the walleye are sitting. Saves you a trip back into town.
Ramp Handles Pontoons Fine
The ramp grade is gentle enough to load and unload a pontoon without drama. Good surface, nothing sketchy. But if you're running anything bigger than 22 feet, the single lane and tight maneuvering area will test your patience.
Better Alternatives Nearby
If you're not camping at Mitchell, the public launch on the south side of Lake Cadillac off Kenwood Park is honestly easier to deal with — actual trailer parking, less congestion. This ramp makes sense for campers; for everyone else, it's more hassle than it's worth.
